# Adding a Custom Avatar to an 8x8 Work Chat Room

## Objective

Add a custom image as the Avatar of an 8x8 Work Chat Room.

## Applies To

- 8x8 Work Chat Rooms
- 8x8 Work for Desktop
- 8x8 Work for Web
- 8x8 Work for Mobile

## Procedure

Prior to proceeding, you will need to have the image you would like to use as the Avatar saved on your device.

### 8x8 Work for Desktop or 8x8 Work for Web

1. Sign in to 8x8 Work for Desktop or 8x8 Work for Web.
2. Select **Messages**.
3. Select the 8x8 Work Chat Room to customize.
4. Select **More options** (three dots).
5. Select **Room details**.
6. Select **Add Image** (plus sign) in the Avatar section.
7. Drag and drop the image to use for the Avatar or select **Upload** and browse for the image.
8. Select **Save and go back**.

### 8x8 Work for Mobile

1. Sign in to 8x8 Work for Mobile.
2. Select **Messages**.
3. Select the 8x8 Work Chat Room to customize.
4. Tap on the **Avatar** (the picture to the left of the room name).
5. Tap on the **camera icon** in the Avatar section.
6. Select the image to use for the Avatar.
7. Tap **Save**.
