# Changing Analog Voice to Fax Line or Vice-Versa in 8x8 Admin Console

## Objective

Change an analog voice line to an analog fax line or vice-versa in Admin Console.

## Procedure

> *This process will delete all call history, call forwarding settings, voicemails, voicemail greetings, and will deactivate your device. Make sure to copy all pertinent data before following the steps below.*

1. Log in to Admin Console as an admin.
2. Select **Users**.
3. Edit the affected user.
4. Go to the *Services and Permissions* section.
5. Select X to remove the assigned service (e.g., X Series - X2 - V0SVC0216-02-US).
6. Select **Save**.
7. Go to *Service and Permissions* again and select the same service that was just removed.
8. Go to *Voice Basic Settings* and select the analog fax/voice device from the *Device Model* menu.
9. Select the ATA terminal.
10. Activate the device via either MAC address or Activation code.
11. Select **Save**.
