# Enabling and Disabling SRTP in Admin Console

## Objective

Enable or disable SRTP in Admin Console.

> **Important:**
> 
> This process also enables or disables encryption of signaling, SIP over TLS (Transport Layer Security).

## Applies To

- Admin Console
- SRTP

## Procedure

Note that some devices, such as AudioCodes, cannot have SRTP enabled or disabled through Admin Console. If you need this function enabled or disabled and are unable to do so from Admin Console, create a case with 8x8 Support.

### Enabling SRTP

1. Log in to [Admin Console](https://apps.8x8.com).
2. Click **Users**.

4. Go to **Voice basic settings**.
5. Turn on **Enable Secure Real-time Protocol**. ***Note****: If there is no activated device associated with this user, the option to enable or disable SRTP will not be available.* ![Voice_for_Teams_App_Updated_Screenshot2.jpg](https://cdn.us.document360.io/e3a59e39-abd3-4423-964c-0a4008dc5673/Images/Documentation/10196)
6. The phone will reboot. Once it has finished rebooting, SRTP will be enabled.
7. To check if SRTP is enabled, place a call from the SRTP-enabled extension and a little lock icon will display on the screen of the phone.

### Disabling SRTP

1. Log in to [Admin Console](https://apps.8x8.com).
2. Click **Users**.

4. Go to **Voice basic settings**.
5.
