# How to fix error in 8x8: "Something went wrong. Please contact your 8x8 system administrator."?

Users attempting to log into 8x8 may encounter the error message "Something went wrong. Please contact your 8x8 system administrator" when requesting a new verification code. This article explains why the error occurs and how to log in successfully.

## Symptoms / Error message

When logging into 8x8, the following error is displayed: "Something went wrong. ## Cause

After entering your username and password, the system automatically sends a login code to your registered authentication method. Clicking the Send Code button triggers a second attempt to send the 8×8 one-time password, which causes the error and will lock out the account.

## Resolution steps

Follow the steps below to resolve the login error:

1. Wait at least **15 minutes** for the temporary account lockout to expire.
2. Return to the 8x8 App login page or [8×8 Application Panel](http://apps.8x8.com) and log in again.
3. Enter your **Username**.
4. Enter your **Password**.
5. Once redirected to the Authentication page, **do not** click the **Send Code** button. The code is sent automatically; check your email, phone or authentication app for the 8×8 one-time password.

## Verify the fix

Enter the automatically generated verification code into the prompt and confirm that you can successfully log into your 8x8 account.

## If the issue persists

Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try logging in again after 15 minutes.
