# How to set Algo 8180 as Ringer

## Problem

Algo 8180 functions as a pager, and not a ringer.

When the customer wants to use the Algo extension in a Ring Group, so it can alert by ringing over the speakers instead of paging.

## Solution

The Algo needs to be activated using SIP Credentials.

**How to factory reset the Algo:**

- If the Algo has already been activated using the Provisioning URL, then factory reset the device by navigating to the **System** tab and selecting the **Maintenance** tab.
- In the **Backup/Restore Configuration** section, select the **Restore Defaults** button.

- Select **OK** when prompted.

- Select the **Reboot** button when prompted. After a few minutes, the device will come back online in its factory default state, including the default password: **algo**.

#### **Algo Setup with SIP Authentication:**

Log into the Algo and set the following for SIP registration (FOR SIP Integration only):

- Auth name = GUN/Username
- Page Extension = GUN/Username
- Auth Password = SIP Password
- URL = unsbc.8x8.com:5299
- Set as NON-SRTP

#### **SIP Registration:**

1. Navigate to the **Control Panel**.
2. Click **Basic Settings** > **SIP**.

3. Enter the **GUN into the Auth name and Extension**.
4. Enter the **SIP Password into the Auth Password**.
5. Enter **unsbc.8x8.com:5299 into SIP Domain**.

Finally, check the device status page, and it should show as Ring #1 Successful.

# Reason

The Algo will only function as a pager when activated using our Provisioning URL.
