# Set a Passphrase in the My 8x8 Support Portal

## Objective

Set up a passphrase for your My 8x8 Support portal.

If you are a My 8x8 Admin with Editions or X Series services (Admin Console), you can set a passphrase for your account in your My 8x8 Support. This passphrase will be used to confirm your identity when you contact 8x8 Support. For more information on passphrases, see [What is my passphrase?](/support/docs/what-is-my-passphrase)

## Procedure

### Create a Passphrase

1. Log in to your [8x8 Application panel](https://apps.8x8.com/).
2. Select **My 8x8**.
3. In the upper right corner, mouse over your username and select **My Profile**.
4. Select **Edit Profile**on the left hand side of the page.
5. Enter a passphrase in the **Pass Phrase** field. 6. Select **Save** to confirm these changes.

### Reset a Passphrase

1. Log in to the [8x8 Application Panel](http://apps.8x8.com/).
2. Select **My 8x8**.
3. Select **Profile** > **My Profile**.
4. Under *Pass Phrase* enter the updated passphrase.
