# Set an Assigned User Number as the Main Business Number in 8x8 Express

## Objective

Set a number assigned to a user as the main business number.

## Applies To

- 8x8 Manager Express

## Procedure

1. Log in to [8x8 Manager Express](https://express.8x8.com/).
2. From the navigation menu on the left, select **Users and phones**.
3. Select the name of the user you wish to edit.
4. To the right of the phone number, select **Change**.
5. Select a temporary number from the suggested numbers, or enter a new area code and select a number. **Note**: The number released should show as the first number on the list of suggested numbers when you select **Change** again.
6. Select **Confirm**.
7. Select **Save**.
8. From the navigation menu on the left, select **Business settings**.
9. To the right of *Business number*, select **Change**.
10. Select the number (the number you previously released) from the suggested numbers.
11. Select **Confirm**.
12. Select **Save**.
