# Update a User's Basic information in 8x8 Admin Console

## Objective

In Admin Console, edit an existing user's Basic Information, including:

- **First and Last Name***
- **Email Address***
- **Username***
- **Site***
- **Language**
- **Time Zone**
- **Contact Directory options**
- **Job Title**
- **Department**
- **Address**
- **Personal Contact Number**

**These fields are required to complete a user's information.*

## Applies To

- Admin Console

## Procedure

Changes to **Username** and **Email** should **not** be made on your account's **original** or **primary administrator profile**!

> Only system administrators can log in to Admin Console to make these changes.

1. Log in to your [8x8 Application Panel](https://apps.8x8.com).
2. Select **Admin Console**.
3. Select **Users**.
4. Locate the user you wish to edit and select **Edit (**pencil icon).
5. The first section of the page is for *Basic information*. Make any needed changes in the fields. Be sure that information is entered into all required fields.
6. At the bottom of the page, select **Save**.
