Using End-to-End Encryption in an 8x8 Work Meeting

Objective

Enable End-to-End Encryption for an 8x8 Meeting. This is available for meetings joined via browser (all browsers that have support for WebRTC Insertable Streams) and 8x8 Work for Desktop starting with v 7.0.

Procedure

All meeting participants should join the meeting prior to encryption then enter the key. Users who join and do not enter the key will only hear static noise and be unable to participate in the meeting.  

Encrypt a Meeting

1. Enter a Meeting.

2. Select More Options.

3. Select Security Options.

4. Select the toggle to Enable End-to-End Encryption.
   

Decrypt a Meeting

1. Enter a Meeting.

2. Select More Options.

3. Select Security Options.

4. Select the toggle to disable End-to-End Encryption.

Additional Isnformation

While a meeting is encrypted, the following features are not available:  

• Recording

• YouTube live streaming

• Transcriptions

• Dialing in by number
