## Question

What is a user policy profile?

## Applies To

- Admin Console

## Answer

A user policy profile is a group of settings that allows account administrators to restrict certain functionality for a group of users. All accounts start out with an **8x8 Master User Template**. For instructions on configuring your user policy profile see [Configure a User Policy Profile in 8x8 Admin Console](/support/docs/configure-a-user-policy-profile-in-8x8-admin-console).
