# About installation

You can easily install **8x8 Work for Desktop** on your computer, and then [log in to the app](/documentation/docs/workd-about-login-and-password) using the credentials sent to you by your phone system administrator.

In addition, if you are an administrator deploying **8x8 Work for Desktop** throughout your organization, refer to information on machine-wide installation as an admin on [the **8x8 Work for Desktop** download page](/support/docs/download-8x8-work-for-desktop).

**To install 8x8 Work for Desktop for yourself as a user:**

1. [Download the application](/support/docs/download-8x8-work-for-desktop), and go through the installation wizard.
2. Open the app. Once **8x8 Work for Desktop** opens, you are able to [log in](/documentation/docs/workd-about-login-and-password).
