The custom dictionary improves the accuracy of call transcriptions by mapping frequently misidentified variations of terms to your preferred term, ensuring correct identification. For example, if transcriptions incorrectly show "8x8" as "eight by eight" or "8 x 8", you can define 8x8 as the correct term and list variations in the dictionary. Future transcriptions will reflect the correct version. **Add a term to the custom dictionary** 1. [Navigate](/documentation/docs/transcription-and-speech-analytics-configuration) to the **Transcription Policy** page. 2. Open the **Dictionary** tab. 3. Click **+ Add New** in the upper-right corner. 4. In the **Correct word** box, enter the term you want to use. 5. In the **Incorrect words** box, enter the incorrect variation and click **Add**. Repeat to add more. 6. From the **Transcription language** dropdown select the applicable language to which the dictionary is applied. 7. Click **Save**. ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/e3a59e39-abd3-4423-964c-0a4008dc5673/Images/Documentation/image-J85B6ICS.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-03T21%3A12%3A41Z&se=2026-11-03T22%3A12%3A41Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=TNjTzJgRzWe1UoxjtU3kasGS8t8RztmbtVgbamTiAEY%3D) **Edit a term in the custom dictionary** 1.
