# Set up call waiting tone

8x8 Work for Desktop allows you to toggle the call waiting tone on/off.

While you are on a call, you may receive multiple calls at a time. The call waiting tone informs you at regular intervals of incoming calls. If you find this tone distracting and you do not rely on audible incoming call alerts, you can now select to toggle off the call waiting tone.

**To access this option:**

- Click **Settings > ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/e3a59e39-abd3-4423-964c-0a4008dc5673/Images/Documentation/icon-settings_19x18.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-03T21%3A12%3A56Z&se=2026-11-03T22%3A12%3A56Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=hfqy1TkvQPupSVNH%2FOJyrun5xQWO6quwyIGb%2BMi7Mik%3D) Audio & Video** and select to toggle on/off **Enable call waiting tone**.

By default, the **Enable call waiting tone** toggle is On, but you can disable it anytime.
