# Handle calls with Skype for Business

**8x8 Microsoft Integration** allows you to take advantage of your existing **contact directory** in **Skype for Business** while enjoying the call capabilities and quality of **8x8 Work for Desktop**. When you dial out from **Skype for Business** using the integration, the call is made seamlessly through **8x8 Work**.

> In order for **8x8 Microsoft Integration** to function, ensure that you are using the appropriate plug-ins: -Download version 6.0 of the plug-ins for [meetings with Outlook](/support/docs/download-8x8-work-for-outlook) and [calling with Outlook](/support/docs/download-8x8-work-for-outlook-click-to-call-plugin).
