Procedure
If you have an 8x8 extension and an Apple iPhone or iPad or an Android mobile phone or tablet, you can install the 8x8 Work for Mobile app to make and receive phone calls, as well as send instant messages and SMS texts, from your 8x8 extension.
Ensure you have the 8x8 Work username and password assigned to your extension. If you have not received an extension welcome email or do not have these credentials, speak to your 8x8 system administrator to have them created or assigned.
From your mobile device, download and install the app using one of the links below:
Open the application and enter in the username and password for your extension to log in.
Manage CONTACTS
Your contacts are organized under:
Company: Connect with coworkers on your company's phone system.
My Contacts: Access contacts on your device, communicate with them in the app, and create personal contacts to use in 8x8 Work. Your device and personal contacts are visible only to you. To access your device contacts from 8x8 Work, you may need to allow app permissions.
Favorites: If you have contacts you frequently communicate with, mark them for quick access and view them in your favorites list.
To mark favorite contacts
In the contact details for a company or personal contact, tap the Mark Favorite Contact option to add the contact to your favorites list.
To remove a contact from favorites, tap the Favorite Contact option in the contact details. Create personal contacts. If you frequently communicate with contacts outside of your company, you can bring in contacts from your device or create personal contacts from scratch.
To access device contacts:
Go to Settings > Device Settings.
Enable app permissions to access your device contacts.
To create personal contacts:
Under Contacts > My Contacts, tap New Contact.
Add the desired contact details.
When you are finished, tap the Save option to add the contact to your personal contacts.

Q: How will incoming calls from an 8x8 extension appear on an iPhone's call screen
A: It will be a pop-up within the 8x8 app, just like within 8x8 Work for Desktop.
Troubleshooting:
If you are having an issue with inbound calls being received on the 8x8 Work mobile app while you are logged out, check to see if call forwarding is enabled somewhere to route to your number/extension.
