Objective

Connect a Cisco IP Phone 8861 to a wireless network.

Procedure

Connect to a Broadcasted Network

1. Unplug the Ethernet cable and plug in the power adapter.

2. Press Information and settings (gear icon).

3. Navigate to Network Configuration.

4. Select Wi-Fi configuration.

5. Select the Service Set Identifier (SSID) of the network.

6. Enter the network Passphrase/password.

7. Press Connect.

8. A message that connection was successful will appear. Press OK to return to the Network configuration menu.

Connect to a Hidden Network

1. Press Information and settings (gear icon).

2. Navigate to Network Configuration.

3. Select Wi-Fi configuration.

4. Select Other.

5. Choose the security mode of the SSID network.

6. Press Select.

7. Enter the Service Set Identifier (SSID).

8. Enter the network Passphrase/password.

9. Press Connect.

10. A message that connection was successful will appear. Press OK to return to the Network configuration menu.
