You can view your contract dates yourself in the 8x8 Customer Billing Portal. Your renewal terms, notice periods and price-increase limits are set out in the 8x8 UCaaS/CCaaS Service Terms and summarised below. Buyout amounts are calculated by the 8x8 Cancellation team.

Note:
The terms summarised here come from the 8x8 UCaaS/CCaaS Service Terms. Your Order takes precedence over these Terms, so if your Order sets a different renewal term or notice period, your Order applies. Check your Order first.
View Your Contract Dates
Log in to the 8x8 Application Panel and select My 8x8.
Select Billing Statements, under Billing
Once rerouted to Gaviti, Click 8×8 Support Center
From the Billing Support Center menu, select Contract Insights.
Contract Insights shows your contract start date, end date, sign-up date and renewal date.
Does My Contract Renew Automatically?
Yes. At the end of your term, your agreement automatically renews for a 12-month renewal term unless your Order states otherwise. To stop it renewing, either you or 8x8 must give notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before your current term ends.
Your initial term is whatever your first Order specifies. If your Order does not specify one, the initial term is 36 months. 8x8 does not offer month-to-month subscriptions.
Notice periods at a glance
What you want to do | Notice required | How |
|---|---|---|
End the agreement at your term end | 30 days before the term ends | Written notice of non-renewal |
Reduce quantity or downgrade at renewal | 45 days before the renewal term begins | Written notice to 8x8 |
Cancel part-way through your term | 30 days — a buyout charge may apply | Cancellation case |
Important:
Reducing your licence count at renewal requires 45 days' notice — longer than the 30 days needed to end the agreement entirely. If you miss the 45-day window, your renewal locks in at your current quantity for the full renewal term.
How to Give Notice of Non-Renewal
Notice must be given in writing. Send it to both addresses below — one satisfies your agreement, the other reaches the team who will action it.
Send to | Why |
|---|---|
claims@8x8.com | The contractual notice address for termination and non-renewal. Sending here is what makes your notice effective. |
globalcancellations@8x8.com | The 8x8 Global Cancellation team, who process the cancellation and can answer questions about your buyout, dates and next steps. |
You can also send written notice by personal service, overnight courier, or US certified mail to 8x8, Inc., Attn: Customer Service, 675 Creekside Way, Campbell, CA 95008. Other contractual notices that are not terminations go to notice@8x8.com.
Important:
Email notice takes effect the first business day after it is sent, provided it is not returned undeliverable. Count back from your term end date and allow for that, plus the 30-day notice period.
Alongside your notice, open a Contract / Term Inquiry case so the Cancellation team can process the service changes. Include your Account ID, your term end date, and the services affected.
Can My Prices Change at Renewal?
Yes, within limits set by your agreement.
Your first Order in a country during a term sets the maximum rates 8x8 can charge for Service Fees and Regulatory Fees on later Orders of those same services in that country, for the rest of that term.
At the start of a renewal term, 8x8 may increase those rates by up to 5% above the rates in effect at the end of the prior term.
8x8 may increase them beyond 5%, up to list price, only by giving you 60 days' notice before the renewal term begins.
Regulatory Fees — the E911 Service Fee, Regulatory Recovery Fee and similar per-number fees — may also be raised to list price at the start of a renewal term if 8x8's underlying costs have increased substantially. See E911 Service Fees and Taxes.
What Happens If I Cancel Before My Term Ends
Your Subscription Commitment covers the whole term. If you cancel early you remain responsible for the remainder, and that is what a Contract Buyout (CBO) charge reflects.
A buyout charge is applied to the invoice for the month after your cancellation takes effect.
Services are not pro-rated after cancellation. If a service is active at any point in the month you cancel, that month is billed in full.
At least 30 days' notice is required.
There are limited circumstances where the Subscription Commitment ends and unused prepaid amounts are refunded — for example if you terminate because 8x8 materially breached the agreement and did not cure within the notice period. See section 12 of the 8x8 UCaaS/CCaaS Service Terms.
For the full cancellation process, see Cancel an 8x8 Account or Service.
New customers: the first 30 days
Within 30 days of your Effective Date, you may terminate on notice to 8x8 that the services do not meet your requirements. Your Subscription Commitment ends, unused prepaid amounts are refunded, and equipment returned within 30 days is refunded less a $25 per item restocking fee. You remain responsible for amounts already incurred and for any usage charges.
Find Out What Your Contract Buyout Would Be
Contract Insights shows your dates, but not a buyout figure. Buyout amounts are specific to your agreement and are calculated by the 8x8 Cancellation team.
In the Customer Billing Portal, open the Billing Support Center menu and select chatBOT / My Support Portal.
Tell Otto, the 8x8 chat assistant, that you have a contract or cancellation question.
Select Contract / Term Inquiry as the case type and submit.
Include your Account ID and the services you are asking about, so the Cancellation team can respond with a figure rather than coming back for details.
Important:
Billing Support cannot quote a contract buyout amount. Contract terms, buyout calculations, waiver requests and cancellation dates are all handled by the Cancellation team. Raising a general billing case for these adds a hand-off before anyone can answer.
