One-Way Audio in Recordings Playback in 8x8 Work for Mobile on Android

Symptom

User experiences one-way audio playback.

Resolution

To adjust this behavior you need to enable Mono mode on your Android device.  

1. Open Settings: Go to your phone's main settings menu.
   

2. Navigate to Accessibility: Scroll down and tap on "Accessibility".
   

3. Select Hearing: Tap on "Hearing".
   

4. Enable Mono Audio: Locate the "Mono audio" option and toggle it on.

5. Choose Device: You may also be able to choose which devices will use Mono audio.

Cause

The audio in the recordings files are in stereo with separate streams for each side. Enabling Mono audio mode combines both streams into one.
