Your invoice shows two different addresses and they do different things. Changing the wrong one will not fix your taxes.

The Two Addresses on Your Account
Address | What it does | Where it is changed |
|---|---|---|
Billing address | Where your invoice is addressed, used by your Accounts Payable team. Changing it does not affect what you are charged. | Billing case — steps below |
Service address | The physical location of each line. This determines your taxes and regulatory fees, including E911, and the location emergency services are sent to. | Admin Console, per line |
Important:
If your people have moved location, update the service address, not just the billing address. An out-of-date service address means incorrect taxes and, more seriously, emergency services being sent to the wrong place.
How to Request a Billing Address Change
Billing address changes are made by 8x8 Billing Support. Open a case through the chat assistant:
Log in to the 8x8 Application Panel and select My 8x8. The Customer Billing Portal opens.
From the Billing Support Center menu, select chatBOT / My Support Portal.
Tell Otto, the 8x8 chat assistant, that you need to update your billing address.
Select the Account Information Change case type and submit.
What to include in your case
Your Account ID — see Find Your Account ID and Billing Telephone Number
The current billing address as it appears on your invoice.
The new billing address in full.
The billing period you want the change to take effect from.
Note:
Including all four details up front means the change can be made without Billing Support coming back to you for more information.
Update a Service Address
Service addresses are managed per line in Admin Console, not in the billing portal, because they are tied to E911 emergency registration. For how your service address affects what you are charged, see E911 Service Fees and Taxes.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Will changing my billing address change my tax?
A: No. Taxes and regulatory fees are calculated from the service address of each line, not the billing address.
Q: We have moved offices. What do I need to change?
A: Both. Update the service address for each affected line so taxes and E911 are correct, and update your billing address so invoices reach the right place.
Q: Our company name has changed as well as our address.
A: A name change is a separate request. See Request a Company or Legal Entity Name Change.
