How to Pay Your 8x8 Bill (UK)

Prev Next

Most UK customers pay by Direct Debit, set up when the account is created. You can also pay by BACS, and this article explains how to do both, how to make a one-time payment, and what to send so your payment is matched to the right invoice.

Note:

This article applies to UK and EMEA accounts invoiced by 8x8 UK Limited in pounds sterling or euros. Payment methods are different for accounts billed by 8x8, Inc. in the United States.

Which Payment Methods 8x8 Accepts

Method

How it works

Direct Debit

The most common method. The mandate is completed when your account is set up, and invoices are collected automatically.

BACS

You send payment to 8x8's bank account. Use the account that matches the currency of your invoice.

Cheque

Accepted, though BACS is faster.

Paying by Direct Debit

If you are on Direct Debit, you do not need to do anything each month. 8x8 collects the invoice automatically from the account on your mandate.

The Direct Debit mandate is completed at the point of sale, when your account is first set up.

Paying by BACS

Pay into the 8x8 UK Limited account that matches the currency on your invoice. 8x8 holds separate accounts for pounds sterling and euros, so paying into the wrong one will delay your payment being applied.

You can find the bank details in two places:

Quote your invoice number as the payment reference. Without it the payment is harder to match and may be delayed in reaching your account.

Important:

Always send your remittance advice to remittance-uk@8x8.com. Without it, a payment cannot be matched to your invoices and will sit on your account as an unapplied balance — which can make the account look past due when it is not. See Confirm a Payment Was Received.

Making a One-Time Payment

A one-time payment is made by BACS, using the bank details in the footer of your invoice.

This is most often needed when an account has been suspended and the balance has to clear quickly. If that applies to you, tell Billing once you have paid so restoration is not delayed. See Late Payments and Past-Due Balances (UK).

How Long a Payment Takes to Appear

Direct Debit and BACS payments take 3 to 5 business days to appear on your account.

If a payment is in transit close to a suspension date, the Collections team will be in contact with you. Tell them the date and amount you have sent, and they will work with you so your account is not suspended while the payment clears.

If your service is already suspended, tell Billing as soon as you have sent the payment rather than waiting for it to clear, so restoration is not delayed.

When Your Payment Is Due

Standard UK payment terms are Net 30, so payment is due 30 days from the invoice date. If you pay by Direct Debit, your account may be set to due on receipt, in which case the due date is the day after the invoice date.

Your due date is shown in the Summary section of your invoice. For the full breakdown of your invoice, see Understanding Your 8x8 Invoice (UK).

If You Need Help

You can also open a billing case. Include your Account ID, the invoice number, and the date, amount and method of any payment you have already made. See Create a Case with 8x8 Billing Support.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: How do I pay my invoice?

A: Most UK accounts are on Direct Debit and are collected automatically. If you are not, pay by BACS to the 8x8 UK Limited account matching your invoice currency, using the bank details in your invoice footer.

Q: Which bank account do I pay into?

A: The one matching the currency on your invoice. 8x8 UK Limited holds separate accounts for pounds sterling and euros. The details are in your invoice footer and in Supplier Form Details for EMEA.

Q: Do I need to send anything after I pay?

A: Yes. Send your remittance advice to remittance-uk@8x8.com so the payment is applied to the right invoices. Without it the payment sits unapplied and your balance will still show as outstanding.

A: Card is not a supported payment method for UK accounts. Pay by Direct Debit or BACS.

Q: My service is suspended and I need to pay now.

A: Pay by BACS using the details in your invoice footer, send your remittance advice to remittance-uk@8x8.com, and tell Billing once the payment has been sent so restoration is not delayed.

A: Direct Debit and BACS payments take 3 to 5 business days to appear. If your service is suspended, tell Billing as soon as you have sent the payment rather than waiting for it to clear.

Q: What reference should I use when paying by BACS?

A: Quote your invoice number. Without it the payment is harder to match to your account and may be delayed.

Q: Can I pay by phone?

A: No. 8x8 does not accept payment by telephone. Pay by Direct Debit or BACS.
